I think that book, while weak when he gets into the woo woo descriptions of what motivates him, is incredible in terms of beginning to create double blind experiments to test certain abilities. The fact that they put screens between the psychics and the sitter, that they psychic had no way of knowing who could be on the other side and that they eliminated non-verbal communication completely by not allowing the sitter to respond vocally are very good starts are demonstrating that there is some kind of non-sensory informational uptake. and the fact that many of the psychics were getting systematic hits on highly specific material was strong as well. They can't be accused of cold readings. Sandy |
