My confusion lies in what precipitates communication with the part. For example, let's say that a person does X when they are in a particular context Y.

(If Y then X occurs)

If that person wants to communicate with his unconscious about his behavior (X), what does he do?

Does he:

1. Think of the context to initiate communication?
-or-
2. Clear his mind then initiate the communication?

My question I guess is...how do you know that the unconscious signal is really the symbol for context Y?

I hope you will use your intuiton to understand my question. I think I may have confused you.
