Robin, Thank you very much for your most useful reply. Though the strings of internal dialogue that I offered in response to Stephen were purely hypothetical ones offered with the intention of provoking further clarification of a phrase that I was interpreting in two contradictory ways, your other points and strategies are very much well-received. In regards to the Darth Vader submodality intervention, thank you for further specifying the criterion of a "voice (that) fills you with pleasant feelings" and a vocal quality that "provokes my curiosity and relaxes me into the certainty that understanding will come easily". BTW, the voice of Darth Vader is not one that I have ever chosen to apply to my internal dialogue. I am not even a Star Wars fan! Kind regards, Pete West |
