John and Carmen, I had coffee with a good friend and he voiced a concern which I found myself recognizing all to well. I have been involved in nlp for over a decade. I have been to several very good trainings. And I have had the good fortune in recent years to be part of a group of people who get together to train nlp. In spite of this a find myself quite dissatisfied with the progress I have made. Now, sure, I do use some nlp-applications often, enjoyably and efficiently - I don’t even think about using them, it is just something I do, and if I think about having done these things I know that it is something I learned from training nlp. But, there are other nlp-applications which I rarely or never use. In my own particular case anchoring would be such an example. (Embarrassingly enough, since it is such a core skill.) I mean, I do use anchoring, but not at all in all the contexts where I would like to use it. I tend to use it mainly in the contexts where it happens by itself so to speak. Partially this is a matter of a not well developed enough skill base - sure, I can anchor in a training context, but not at all as smoothly as I would like to be able to. Now, I do not want to limit my question to anchoring, it is rather more general: how would you recommend that one should train or do in order to be competent in the extreme when it comes to using the nlp-patterns?
