Hi Yah To call something magic is to reveal a certain perceptual position. Magicians (whether stage or someone simply consistently brilliant in their field) know precisely what they are doing (although in the later case, their knowledge may be tacit). It is only from the perceptual position of the uninformed observer/audience that the sequence achieves that perceptual quality we call magic. Which illusion do you have in mind? John |
