Renee, I don't know anything about Habermas or his views, so I cannot answer your question about what trainers are saying in response. I would like to note Martin's excellent comment which bears repeating over and over: "NLP is not interested in developing theories (explanations of why)... we don’t care “why” a genius behaves in a certain way, but we want to know “how” that genius behaves that way." I would trade the word psychology for NLP in the above statement in order to express my own views. I am a graduate student in psychology at a research insitution and I would like to say that the WHY question holds little interest to me. Most of my colleagues and professors who spend time answering "why" normally end up on huge hallicinatory journeys which, regardless of their seductive quality, usually end up doing no more than isolating themselves from the world around them (and the people in front of them). If you have specifics about Habermas that you would like to share with us, please do so. Ryan |
