Scott There are a number of design variables in the new code games such as the alphabet game that culmulatively have as a consequence the generation of a high-performance state that will be automatically (unconsciously) re-triggered in whatever context you bridge it into in step four of the new code change format (page 240, Whispering). In the footnotes (#13, 14, 15 and 16, pages 264, 265) that accompany the presentation of the alphabet chart in Whispering (page 242) there are a number of warnings about the need to, for example, change the chart to ensure that it offers an adequate challenge. Variations in the movements (as long as laterization and especially, cross-body (e.g. right arm and left leg) movements are to be preserved although the actual lateral movements are a free variable. The point is to make the adjustments to maintain the challenging nature of the task - for example, in condition 3 (the cross-over movements, imagine instead of running the chart back to front, you run it in diagonals. The streamlining you described is an excellent indicator. nj's reminder about Carmen and I insisting that you have a coach is of the utmost importance - if you are amazed by the consequences without a coach, you will lost altogether with the results you get with a coach.
