GSM, Okay so forgive my ignorance, but I am genuinely curious. Why is the documentedness of the placebo effect so relevant? I did read your posts and I also noticed that you kept pointing to documentation regarding the placebo effect in your posts so I assumed that this had some bearing on your point. I am off-base here? If not then my answer still stands for feed-forward effect (placebo or otherwise) vs. KNstate. This difference between validating an existing belief and discovery. To me this is a world of difference. There are also a lot of great examples of the usefulness of feed-forward beliefs (and not.) Depends upon the belief. "It's delighful and surprising how easy it is to learn anything" for example. - There's a nice one to have validated! Todd |
