Dear Carmen & John, I recently attended a seminar with the above title, licensed by Richard Bandler and presented by Lenny Darnell. While I got to learn a couple of interesting things, I was put off by what the instructor considered to be a fun application of hypnosis: He hypnotized 3 people, instructing one to act as if he were a Marsian (from the planet Mars) and the other two as translators (Marsian to English) and to fight over whose translation was right. Now my questions are: Do you consider that a fun and or ethical application of hypnosis? Is it common to have this kind of "fun" at NLP/hypnosis seminars? Whith whom can I train hypnosis in order to be spared from this kind of fun, but still be sure to train with a skilled practitioner? Lenny even told a story that supposedly Milton Erickson had said - referring whith the latter to Richard Bandler - that two young, very intelligent men came to visit him and that one of them was an a.. I canīt understand why somebody would tell such a thing about his own teacher. I appreciate your answers, Thomas |
