Scott Your point about being eficient by deciding (before initiating modeling in the know nothing state) which specific contexts contain the patterning you want to assimilate is very useful to consider. The way you propose to accomplish it is less so. I recommend Robert Ballintine's extended response to you in the thread "snowballing in modeling" using cricket as an example in the thread which contains many useful even brilliantly expressed points that touch on the issue you are working.
