Actually nj, I do I suppose the nub of your mail is where you quoted me as saying "This is where others, phenomenologists included have taken a different turn." and you ask 'What turn do you take?' The answer is, I'm not commited to any particular turning (to continue the metaphor), I'm simply exploring some of the different avenues I have come across in an effort to better understand them. So we can dispense with your 'wonderings' about what my beliefs may or may not be. Specifically, one of the things that I'm trying to better understand is why some well renowned researchers in Cognitive science such as Varela have gone to great lengths to distinguish their work from work influenced by the 'representation' paradigm, what the key differences are, and what the implications may be.
