Could I suggest that you read Whispering (you know, the book we are presumably discussing here), especially pages 9 - 49 and see whether that is the beginning of an interesting response to your question? 

"I would think  allowing the flow of information to flow would be more useful"

Is this a veiled reference to the suspension of f2 transform?
