Query for Mr Grinder and other practitioners on here: Jeffrey Zeig has I believe stated that Dr Erickson did not like Leslie LeCron's practice of using a pendulum or assigning Yes/No ideo-motor movements and questioning the client. From what I gathered on Mr Zeig's website (Behaviour Online), he seemed (to me) to be saying that Dr Erickson preferred noticing patterns of non-verbal response, that he trusted more than assigned finger or other signals. Presumably (and I admit I may be incorrect here), Milton thought that the possibilty of confabulation or intereference from the CONSCIOUS mind was too great. Presumably Dr Grinder and Dr Bandler did not think this was too great a risk, considering they utilised such finger movements in six step reframing and other NLP techniques. Dr Cheek and Dr Ernest Rossi (both imo excellent practitioners) utilised such techniques in their work as outlined in Mind/Body Therapy. They stated that Imprints could be accessed and reframed utilising this technique and as long as the therapist was observant and followed some guidelines, then effective work could be done. Has anybody got any thoughts on this matter ie/ are ASSIGNED ideo motor reponses any less useful than noticing patterns of non verbal behaviour for utilisation |
