Hi John, You asked: "Where is the collasping anchors in 6 Step Reframing, Triple Description, new code games leading to a high performance state...?" Well lets take 6 step reframing. The problem behaviour is usually a statebound issue which fires off autonomously in a certain context. As soon as you identify the positive intention you have induced a significant state change which collapses anchors in the original context. The change is actually done at this step....though you can continue with identifying the three new behaviours that you can use instead. This simply connects the old triggers to a new behavioural output....but the change has already been made. In triple description you are using three perceptual positions to visit a problem context. Each of these perspectives contains its own statebound information...usually the problem exists because only one perspective is priviliged...entering each perspective and ascertaining the information therein (consciously or unconsciously) gives an opportunity to collapse anchors either at the point of entry or when re-entering what becomes an updated first position. In New Code games you identify from 3rd position a context for change. Then you step into 1st position and experience the VAK triggers (internal and external). Then back out to do a game which induces a flow state wherein you have access to multiple states simultaneously. In this new state you step back into the problem context and without consciously attempting to do anything differently, notice what changes...this is where the collapse anchors occur. Now the second part of my statement which you omitted was that if you get the earliest triggers for the problem behaviour then attach your new state (however generated) then in theory this triggers the new state without "crossing swords" with the old one....fine in theory...yet I suspect (from my experience at any rate) that some degree of collapse anchors occurs anyway. This reminds me about what the pure Behaviourists used to say when accused by analysts about "just treating the symptom". Their reply was that they simply changed the antecedants or the consequences and never touched the symptom at all!! All the best, Lewis. |
