"Do you play/learn golf better when you're thinking about that big teetering pile of generalisations, or when you're just in the moment, in the experience, not-thinking, not-knowing?" That's a difficult question cause I haven't kept a record. Could it be that when something doesn't work with someone's golf swing they decide to accept that as their fate in golf i.e. to have say only an average sort of golf swing - hit or miss - is that decision informed by a belief? What about the inverse? What does the know nothing state contribute in this scenario and what would be the outcome in comparison (indeed for each person)? I'm not advocating one over the other, rather than assume something to be the case I prefer observational competancy. Otherwise the 'know nothing state' is just theoretical rather than a confirmed NLP model for learning. |
