Physiology of Excellence:

This exercise is typically taught to be done with a group. It can be
done with two or three individuals although it requires a significant
amount of skill in calibration. This could be done alone, although the
self calibration creates quite a challenge.

1. The explorer demonstrates excellence
The explorer identifies an experience of excellence and recreates it
while being associated in it. The Explorer acts out the experience for
3 minutes.

2. The explorer demonstrates a stuck state.
The explorer identifies a stuck context and recreates it while being
associated in it. The Explorer acts out the experience for 3 minutes.

3. Repetition
The explorer repeats steps 1 and 2 for one minute each, using the same
situations.

4. The observers report.
The observers describe the differences they detected between the
explorer's physiology in the state of excellence and physiology in the
state of being stuck.

5. The explorer selects and tests unconscious anchors
The explorer selects one aspect of his or her excellence
physiology-one unconscious anchor- that seems to be most
"significant." The explorer reenacts the "stuck state" while using
that anchor. If this change does not make a significant difference in
the experience, the Explorer selects another aspect of his or here
excellence physiology, treats it as an anchor, and continues the
process until he or she has discovered "the difference that makes the
difference."

If the observers have suggestion for an even more resourceful state,
they may ask the Presenter if he or she wants to "try it on."

6. Future Pace
The explorer selects a future situation in which he or she wishes to
have this Physiology of Excellence. The explorer enacts the situation,
using "the difference that makes the difference."
