Hi Robin, hi Russ Both spot on - ultimately the selection proceeds from the requirement to have signals that are involuntary, and the vast majority of people regard, operate as if their kinesthetics are involuntary. Russ points out that this seems to be culturally determined. Agreed - it is also interesting to note that the existence of such a culturally biased choice is an artifact of the limitations of consciousness - Miller's 7 + or - 2 capacity for conscious processing.
