The difference in having a model that works consistently is a matter of what the model effectively achieves:

If that be consistent quality output that's good.  Of course given that model, we have other variable outside the model to contend with hence your tiger example - but we are talking about a different class of variables and criterion (indeed a different logical level that includes these other variables).
