hello todd, thanks for your answers.  i was particularly interested in a situation wherein a person normally enters 1st position in step four of the new code change format, but instead spontaneously shifts to a second or third perceptual position after (or due to) entering the high performance state. is this hypothetical situation possible or has it been observed before? regards, scott
