Hello. I think that some NLP modelers still work with derivatives or variations of the Emprint Method. Based on my reading of "The Emprint Method", I believe that the authors of that book suggest that the method is useful to elicit, describe, instruct, and learn about a target behavior. I don't agree with them on all those points. Instructing by verbally future-pacing seems innappropriate as a means to instruct someone who does not already have experience correctly performing the future-paced behaviors. The strategy elicitations and installations used in NLP Vol 1 were over my head, and would be for many people who would still benefit by using some variant on the Emprint Method. Those NLP developers out there who think the same might want to reconsider the many ways that The Emprint Method can be appropriately used. I welcome any replies. -nj |
