Hello, Mr. Schertzer. 1. In the post that your post replied to, I wrote, "The Emprint Method is an elicitation-by-interview method that attempts[ATTEMPTS]...". Yes, I understand the difference between the WITW method and the Emprint method, and I favor the WITW method for the actual acquisition of a skill. I feel a little like someone up for target practice if I don't get that clear. I don't recall mention of anything more sophisticated than a list of activities as the coded result of WITW method application. Even a list of activities would be OK, if the list were of any help to another to understand what the list describes. But how to create such a list by self-eliciting was not covered in WITW, from what I remember. My earlier suggested application is an idea for use of the The Emprint Method. WITW was not too explicit about how one chooses an exemplar. In your response to my post, you mentioned only David Gordon as the author of "The Emprint Method". Actually, it's David Gordon, Leslie Lebeau, and Michael Lebeau who all co-authored "The Emprint Method". That's significant because David Gordon, working with Michael Dawes, has produced another model of human behavior, one that I'm not familiar with. Thank you for your pointer to Altfeld's work. Perhaps its use to a WITW method modeler would prove better than the Emprint Method's use. It may be that Dr. Grinder and Ms. Bostic St. Clair have developed their own method of coding a WITW-modeled behavior. -nj |
