Hi John, Thanks for providing the link: http://www.altfeld.com/mastery/misc/irc-knowledge.html While I found the references and information associated with Knowledge Engineering, a sub-field of AI, contained within the above link to be useful and quite interesting, I can't help but wonder...has Altfeld read WITW? The NLP modeling process of JG/CBSC could be considered (metaphorically) to be an example of what Altfeld (and other AI researchers such as Minsky et al.) refers to as a hybrid system. That is, a combination of a LEARNING system (Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms) and a DECISION system (also known as an Expert System). Phase two of JG/CBSC's modeling model involves the unconscious uptake of patterning through the DKNS. Similar to LEARNING systems, in this phase of the model, the actor doesn't know HOW (s)he learns, but (s)he is amazing at learning. Phase four of JG/CBSC's modeling model involves the encoding of tacit knowledge. This is what Expert systems excel at accomplishing. They are incredible at making straight forward rational decisions and they can tell you EXACTLY how they make up their mind about something. -Pete |
