Concepts of family systems and their participants aside, take your relationship with the newborn infant very seriously. I'm sure you love your child, so give it lots of affection. Aside from that, never let that child watch television. Too many parents let TV determine the outcome of their children's lives. Of course, an easy solution to that problem is just to haul your television(s) to the nearest window... :) For more about that topic, read the book "The Plug-in Drug". If you need some emotional support right now, check locally for a new parent support group, or for a support group that specifically helps new fathers. You can find such groups sponsored by a hospital with a birth center. Take care, -nj |
