Hi, Pete. Me, I like human modelers much more than AI modelers. I will list some reasons for my preferences, if you or another forum guest prompts me. I don't think that expert systems are analogous in function to human minds in ways that demonstrate the equivalence of a human brain to an expert system, however the expert system is designed. Of course AI of all kinds COULD be useful, I'm not disagreeing with you there. It's how the AI will actually be used, a posteriori, that's my problem, rather than some sense that discussion of their potential is overblown. No, I take that back, the discussion of AI potential IS overblown. Inviting an AI to do a modeler's job is like asking your spouse and your neighbor to sleep together, until your spouse loves your neighbor, so that you can watch more television while your spouse is occupied. -nj |
