Yes, Michael, you are wrong. The deliberate ignorance displayed on this board about metastates, (despite the abundance of freely shared information in Michael Hall's books and at www.neurosemantics.com) serves only to convince me of the narrow mindedness of some in the NLP community. In particular the founders and their acolytes seem to be trying to take back the NLP model to themselves. Grinder and Bandler may have brought NLP into the world but they do not and cannot own NLP as their private fiefdom. (Do they even speak to each other now? What kind of a model of communication excellence is that giving?) They do not now have the right to say what is and is not part of NLP. They may want to be like the Pope and define heretics as "belonging to another domain." They do not have either the right or the power to do this. In reality the world of NLP is now a rich amalgam of the founder's work and later workers taking the field forward. We need to move to appreciate the work not just of the founders but also the latter day developers of NLP and Michael Hall is pre-eminent amongst the subsequent developers of NLP. The churlish attitude displayed towards Michael Hall is in great contrast to the freely given acknowledgement, respect, courtesy and gratitude that he shows to the founders of NLP. As a master practitioner of NLP I look forward to seeing many more developments in NLP wherever they may arise from, and no matter how apparently different they are from the original patterns. |
