Thanks Robert, I've read some of Dilts about Da Vinci, and that's going in the direction I'm talking about, though Dilts thinks in terms of problem-solving and I may be leaning more toward creating problems. I'm also very interested in some of his applications of Schizophrenic thinking, since that's an area of interest to me as well. Maybe you can point me toward something? I'm also interested in hearing how using NLP is a form of poetry in motion for you. I have a similar experience, since I came to NLP much because it paralleled my own ideas about poetry (I write a kind of experimental poetry, ie http://www.cortlandreview.com/issue/22/schertzer.html if you're curious to what I mean) and how aspects of the process may be therapeutic in ways other than self-expressiveness and traditional approaches to healing through art. I also started thinking about how NLP can be useful in the artistic process, ie anchor chaining, blending states, not to mention the infinite possibilities of perceptual positions, logical levels, and of course, modeling. For me, there's a possibility for opening up something outside of coaching and therapy, a type of service that would be particulary aimed at creating new experiences in and for themselves, as an outcome, rather than in service of another outcome. Do you or anyone else think this might be an interesting and relevant area of discussion? best, JS |
