I see it this way, you may be seeking abosolute truth and not believe you have yet found it, which implies the presupposition, and continue searching for the abosolute truth.....Until you find it, or as you say "achieve Samahdi", which is The One truth you are seeking; However, by doing so, you are denying all other truths or possibilities, and thereby denying the presuppositon, that their are no absolute truths, only new information. Not to say that, that is a bad thing. Yet the presuppostion has a very useful place in our thinking, especially where we want or need change. Without it change would not be possible. Example: Hundreds of years ago people believed the earth was flat and the center of the universe, and that the sun(and I imagine the stars)cirled the earth. This they accepted as the absolute truth. Without the presuppostion that "Their is no absolute truth, only new information" the earth might still be considered flat. Their would be no sense of adventure, no sense of curriousity, no explorers, no space programs, no new ways of thinking, because we would already know all their is to know, all thanks to absolute truth. I'm inclined to stay away from groups who sell absolute truth, for they often use the absolute truth as a means to control or manipulate those who no nothing of this pressupositon. |
