I just read over my last post there and it occured to me that I'm transcribing metaphors. I'm talking about specific items (like the "coding bit" in a schema that I read about in my cognitive psychology book) by grouping them into large chunks and generalising them by relating specific properties and overlooking outliers, so blighting proportion for the sake of alignment and congruency. Ok, i didn't go to any of my psycholinguistics lectures last year so I'm moving into way out of my depth here. Time for a metaphor! It's like, I'm going to bash this chunk of wood into a circle, cuz that's the only way it's going to fit into the filter which I've designed. My point is, this is only language. I'm debating a force of language with a force of language. I don't know how to describe this properly. Ok. Does anyone have a clue what I'm trying to say? |
