Robin, Please disregard my previous posting as it seems that my attention or lack thereof prevented me from catching the spirit of your posting. I "read" very quickly. VERY. Words that are improperly spelled, if I recognise that they are, simply slow my pace. Then my eyes flash to where they are on the page. Then I will make a bit of conversation or not with my self, and then proceed from there at the rate prior to the inquiry as to the difference I noted. I expect things to be spelled a certain way. When they are not, it may capture my attention long enough for me to wonder why. When I read slowly, I do speak the words to myself. As I am a slow typist, that is what I am doing now. Some of my friends who type quickly, do so by feel and sight. When they make an error, it comes to their attention by a quick feedback.. They are looking at the screen and there it is in front of them. Sometimes when they are copying text, it is the feel of their fingers in the wrong place. Be well, SMH |
