Thera Nyanaponika claims in The Heart of Buddhist Meditation that the complementaty process to projection called introjection is where children emulate the virtues and vices in the peoople that they admire. Also that P & I operate in a similar manner to suggestion but at an "unconscious level". The difference being that P& I are powered by "subconcious motivation" thereby producing compelling and permanent results, whereas suggestion is often directed against such motivation and so only erratic and transient results are produced. Also a para phrase from some one(?) is that Frued gathered his notions about P & I from his use of hypnosis (which he later modified because he had mouth cancer which did not lend his mouth well to the verbalization required...So he invented "free association)Dr. Grinder somewhere is response to DHE questions likened it(DHE) to the clever use of Ericksonian hypnosis. So here is one point. It seens to me that Erickson hypnosis was modelled by Grinder and Bandler but is not the Modeling State or Modeling Process itself. Another is that Emulation with a child like enthusiam has within it the mechanism of modeling.A Child emulating also in my observation is also very congruent. ZZC |
