John, I love that story. I heard that Stephen Gilligan learned a lot from doing the same with (becoming) Milton Erickson. Would you consider this a form of modeling? And how much contact did Paul Nagel have with McCoy Tyner? I've been wondering how, if it is possible, can one set up something up so that one can get similar results just by asking one's unconscious what must be happening in someone's process to produce particular results. If so, wouldn't that be as useful as modeling? Might I be able to take an artifact of some sort and ask myself how can I do the same? Or must one have the model available first hand? I guess, once again, I should just shut up and try it, huh? best, JS |
