Subjectivity cannot be measured or quantified. There are too many variables. So, what the hell has psychology ever done to provide tools for people to run their own brains? Sweet FA. Let's be precise, what exactly is it about NLP that doesn't work? the technology or the modelling. The modelling of Erickson by JG and RB certainly allowed for hiss methods to be reproduced to an effective level. If people applied the the basic presuppositions of NLP to their lives they would have a set of powerful tools. Far more effective infact then the muck raking, lets-go-dig-up-your-past-shit-and-I'll-repeat-back-to-you-what-you-just-told -me-because-I-don't-have-the-courage-to-influence-you-crap. I think I'll just empathise with my client and have counselling myself bollocks. The reason you won't find NLP or anything like its attitute in psychology is that the psychology professors (or at least the ones I've met,) are shit scared of anything that gets you to talk to your client as a real person and not just some statistic that needs to be quantified. Teach them reframing and it makes their head explode. I've enjoyed my rant and now I feel good. Thakns for reading. JG and RB, although yop may be taking different routes, keep it up. Riddick |
