Hi John and Carmen, Great book! I don't neccesarily intend to jump off the philisophical deep-end here, but I would very much appreciate it if you would define 'choice' in the context of NLP as you understand it. The only contraints that I would impose on your efforts would be that the definition locate, to some extent, the agent of choice so that one couldnt simply say, "but that 'choice' was necessarily determined by some other set of programming" Bandler must have been the one who said, "people make the best choices given their model of the world" because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense- however, yes, it is useful. It seems from NLP's perspective that we MUST 'choose' whatever action we are presently engaged in because we are following the mandates of our model. Is there anyway out? Does NLP posit a Chooser or is that outside the box into which NLP roots around? Thanks so much- Sarah |
