The predominant method for teaching NLP skills has been the 2 week, or however long, seminar of a set timeframe, "lecture, exercise, test, graduate" model. I have experienced this model in a couple different settings and, while I found clear advantages to this approach, I still find myself asking - is there a better way...? Another model that comes to mind is that used predominantly in martial arts, where one joins a "school", attends classes regularly, learns and practices on an ongoing basis, and ideally, becomes part of a growing, evolving community or organization. In this model, there are distinct stages of progress, but there is no "end" to the process, per se. Even for the "master". Anybody else ever consider this or other approaches to teaching NLP skills? I wonder how much leverage we can find in this area on the improvements John/Carmen have outined? Troy |
