John S, I admire the spirit of t's question. A point of clarification. Carmen and John write: "Iatrogenic Principle Interventions in change work will be selected to effect change at precisely the level or representation at which the representation of the experience to be changed is coded: the most fundemental distinctions being primary experience (FA) or secondary experience (the mental maps resulting from f2)." WITW p322 My (f2) transformed map of this is: in order for someone to change it is only necessary that they understand how they have been assisted, and indeed any cause-effect explanation of its aeteology if the original coding of their problem is concerned with understanding something at the cultural/linguistic level, (the f2 map of secondary experience). The assumption being, of course, that most requests for help are not in respect this second category of difficulty. Now back to t's question . . . . go for it! Stephen :)) |
