John For those who have spiritual goals(and very specifically defined as wanting to know god-direct actual experience of God, the samadhi state occurs when you achieve that- what I've described are of course physiological qualities that go with it.there are other qualities as well(though not necesarily sensory based),its the cumulation of for most devotees a fairly extended period of consistent systemic kriya yoga practice(7-50 years). its superconsciousness It is in no "way, shape, or form" even remotely close to the "know nothing" state. its the opposite(one quality of samadhi is omniscience) I obviously can't speak directly for Yogananda or other spiritual masters yet they would recogize that you had attained samadhi if in fact you had. If you were to decide that this was a worthwhile project, there are several individuals at the Self Realization Fellowship ashram in Los Angeles CA, namely Sri Daya Mata(current president)who could verify such an achievement Respectfully though,I'd be EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL that someone with even your abilities could come remotely close to reproducing it with something like say Ericksonian patterning.
