Hello, Dr. Grinder. It's interesting to me to consider why energy is posited by the spiritually-oriented. For instance, if I were to say that my energy spread to you, maybe I'd have as evidence that we began acting the same way - I frowned after I saw the frown on your face. But, suppose I was looking away from you, and turned, and had a frown on my face, just as you did. Could it be that we were part of the same energy field? Well, perhaps something in our shared environment, a mutual circumstance, made us both separately frown. Or our frowns happened for distinct personal reasons. I think that a spiritualist disallows coincidence and social communication (and maybe circumstances) as possible causes for what he finds is the function of "energy" in human communication. -nj |
