John and Carmen, I understand now. Let me see then... That would mean that 2nd perceptual position is truly being as another person entirely. In other words, the referential index shift is from one human being to another entity entirely. However, your post would indicate that 3PP is where you can 'be yourself' while looking at yourself. While 2PP is where you cannot be yourself but must be another? Is that congruent with your meaning? Thanks to you both, Gene |
