Hi Gene

Seems like we are almost there: your initial statement,

"That would mean that 2nd perceptual position is truly being as another person entirely. In other words, the referential index shift is from one human being to another entity entirely?

is entirely in accord with our understandings.

Your second statement,

"However, your post would indicate that 3PP is where you can 'be yourself' while looking at yourself. "

We are not certain where the statement about being yourself comes from but our intention was to indicate the 3rd position is by definition reflexive in that you see and hear yourself as a actor/actress on the stage of ongoing experience as perceived from 3rd.

Finally, you mention,

"While 2PP is where you cannot be yourself but must be another?"

again, we are in full agreement.

All the best,

Carmen and John
