Hi E_lie,
Thank you... your words were a timely reminder to me that there are some connections that are better broken, and some that have value remaining connected. For instance, the connection "fire hurts me" has served people well in the past as a means of avoiding burns. Are we ready to move beyond giving the fire a life of its own or does it have value?

In the meta-model, "my wife made me feel sad" can be corrected to "I felt sad when I heard my wife say X". I sometimes wonder if correcting something like this might actually be a form of disocciation - and thus can be both of great service and a great disservice to our experience depending on when it's used.

Likewise, people commonly give the things around them a life to explain what they do - like people saying that fire is alive. Maybe this allows many people who don't communicate with their unconscious to get a clearer signal from their unconscious through the metaphor it provides. The natural though erroneous connections people make need to be replaced with something that serves them as completely as the previous connections. A simple replacement in how we use our words may be as unecological as simply removing an unwanted state by collapsing an anchor on it or popping a pill.

Late at night obviously... I'll reread this tomorrow and wonder what I was trying to say... :)
