Well I think a lot of these associations and ways of slicing up experience would be considered to operate at FA rather than f2. f2 seems to emphasize one step removed from immediate experience and slicing up of that experience, as in you construct f2 models based on them, about them. Its the difference between associating a gurgle with a part of the floor, and making the connection that one gurgle seems very similar to another gurgle associated with something you experienced in a completely different context. Its a way of thinking about what's occurred and that which was associated fairly automatically and continuously - in a sense f2 seems to be a process of making connections about associations and the 'slicing up of experience' over very seperate contexts of experience in time and space. best, GSM |
