Third position contains with its own set of representations and is certainly not disassociated from kinesthetics as many people say. Third is an observer position, that has its own set of representations. When we go to third consciously we often chose the the observer to assume the role of coach so the feelings and state attached to coach are neutral. We also unconsciously shift our representations to third, observing the consequences of our interactions with other people i.s surveying first and second or first and multiple seconds. These unconscious shifts to observer are not always as coach. When John and Carmen refer to meta states as shift to third in Whispering, they are referring to the type of unconscious shift I have described above (my interpretation). These unconscious thirds have kinesthetics attached and of course a state. Regards Michael Carroll |
