A few thoughts: My experience in the UK is that sales people are receptive to anything that helps them to improve their results. NLP models when applied to sales are definitely effective at producing results (and in our own case we have had those results independently researched and evaluated) So where in my experience I have encountered (and I often do)objections to the use of NLP it is usually because of the preconceptions people hold (based on 'bad press'or misunderstanding)or because of a direct negative experience of NLP Both the bad press and the negative experiences come from trainers who are either inexperienced in NLP (I recently met an 'NLP Trainer' whose entire personal NLP experience was a 3 day introductory training)or have not 'applied it to self' (e.g.I worked for one client where another NLP trainer had adopted what the client called a 'soupy therapeutic style' when what the client said he had asked for was hard nosed commercial awareness to increase sales) ...and that's just my personal experience Ian Newton |
