Hi, John. You wrote: (1) "May I request that you re-read the recent posts Todd and I have exchanged on this topic?" I did. I have the same questions. I did appreciate the statements you two made about the subjective connotations of possible metaphors you could use with a client. But neither of you proposed solutions, such as: (2) how you'd check if your client had fear of fish (3) how you'd check if your client had a positive association with football-playing (4) how you'd check if your client had neutral feelings about sand. Further, since I brought up (2), (3), and (4), how are answers to those topics relevant to content-free therapy? Is that what you were discussing? Perhaps not, but my questions: (5) do you mean logical levels, when you use the term "levels"? (6) is the content of level 1 client-communicated content? (7) Can you give me an example of distinguishing level 1 content from level 2 content? (8) what process or processes do you find, in your therapy clients, creates client content? (9) can you give me an example of client current content? still stand. Plenty of assumptions and terminology given in your posts were confusing to me, I didn't find consistency or clarity in your use of terminology, but I am asking for clarification, because I don't understand what you were discussing. Respond to my questions as much as you can. I'll read each response, response from you and Todd, with interest. -nj |
