Okay, take music for example. I remember some of the guitar pieces I've written through physical sensations of my body, as well as visual images that are created spontaneously as I've played them. These are maps as well, as are the referent images I might draw up in order to remember music I've heard. The map is not the road, but the road is not the territory either, it is doctored territory. Also, something on the road may stand out in my mind and help me imagine a direction to go through a series of images. That's a way of thinking about the territory without using language. Again, I'm only using myself as an example. But unless you're using the F2-FA map, you're going to find these things in people in general. And what is a phobia if not a complex equivalence or cause-effect between something "external" and an internal kino? Please show me the way and convince me. I'm sick of this argument. best, JS |
