The difference to me is whether something is a guide (f2 transform) - that is, an internal represention/map that is comprised of a set of ordered rules (digital structure or logical inclusion) that have been developed to organise sensory experience - i.e. the mapping is used as a logically ordered interpretation of the characteristics of the sensory experience (in terms of spatial and temporal co-ordinates) and takes the assumption that the co-ordinates of the f2 transform involve a 1:1 mapping with the sensory experience under scrutiny. Anything like phobic responses, spontaneous imagery, emotions or memories are (analog and non-linear functions) associated internal responses to sensory experience - they do not provide a linear and clearly logical description of the sensory experience - this entails that they are operating at FA. |
